Do you preserve formatting? Scryla Recover preserves basic formatting like bold and italics, along with
chapter headings and subheadings. In order to keep the output file as clean as possible, it deliberately strips out font
color. Hyperlinks are preserved where possible as: link text (hyperlink).
Can you convert MOBI files? No. Amazon KDP no longer supports MOBI files. Scryla Recover handles only the EPUB filetype.
Is there a file size limit? Yes. The maximum file size for uploaded EPUB files is currently 50MB.
Will chapter headings and scene breaks be preserved? We normalize chapter structure and scene breaks where they can be reliably detected.
Are images preserved in the DOCX? Yes. Images in chapters are kept, and oversized images are scaled down to fit the page. Background images are treated as decorative and are stripped from the final output. If you need them in your Word document, you should re-add them after download.
What if my EPUB fails to convert? Try a different EPUB export if available; some files contain non-standard markup. If it still fails, contact support with the file sample.
